Ramiro Ramírez
Ramiro Ramírez P. A.K.A. Ramirones, He is a Graphic Artist from the city of Caracas- Venezuela, Raised in the Petare parish where he began to take the first steps in art through graffiti, experimenting with the spray making tags, bombs and murals, observing the city and my environment, exercise with which I form criteria of forms of what was in the city, the kinetic murals, the forms of the structure of the city and its behavior, from there I forged my identity and use of the concept that currently in my creations, paying tribute to what makes me be. Placing an appeal in a surreal way in the narrative.
I started my Design studies at the “Monseñor de Talavera” Institute, then Visual Communication at the “Darias” Design Institute. My training includes graffiti, illustration, murals and also specializations in digital tools. To achieve great results, I practice in the narrative through sketches, ideas that catch me, I turn them into series, creating the range of possibilities by which they are related, depending on the result that project selected the medium to apply.
After emigrating from Venezuela to the US, I took a professional break as a designer and artist for more than 4 years and was able to learn new skills. After that, I felt the need to undertake artistically, offer my skills and put my criteria to order to clients to provide a creative service with optimal results and thus offer them my attention to connect with them and solve their graphic needs.
During my journey, he had the opportunity to participate in editorial projects through infographics, advertising campaigns, covers and music project campaigns, participated in the direction of music videos, currently contributes to the development of local brands in the city of Orlando and made a podcast of graffiti called After the Wall (where they are collected, the stories from the beginning of the movement in Venezuela and the results that Venezuelan writers have had -exalting graffiti as a medium-.)
I currently do my professional graphic arts service in the city of Orlando from where I develop brands. My current work includes: graphic design, illustration, muralism and labeling, to be applied in various media.
My artistic work is based on the visual experiences to which I have been exposed during what I have traveled and I have allowed myself to live, it exalts words that are in print runs or phrases that become a single image, this search compiles a little each one of the branches that I have touched in the wide world of graphic arts, combined with my personal experiences, it has the structures and impeccable disorder of graffiti, narrated in street codes, respecting the visual and compositional parameters as I learned in the design , orders the chaotic, and mixes the logic with the surreal as the illustration allows me, all this combined is a Ramirones.
Mainly my vision is inspired by the incomprehensible beauty of the city of Caracas, from the perspective of what surrounded me while living in that city, it is a search from my own identity, a petare artist, who visualizes with the unimaginable, looking for the beautiful in things, and all the history that we can tell only with a word reflected in an image.
My work is made up of series, this time I want to show the Caballitos:
The work “Los Caballitos 2.0” represents in the foreground a conceptual fusion of horses that have a structure composed of parts of very common motorcycle models in the city of Caracas (Venezuela). Its title comes from the typical Venezuelan phrase that says that “riding on a single wheel” is doing “horse”. At the bottom of each of the pieces you can see an emblematic place of the city.
Inspired by motorcycles and their function of speed in the city, it represents a race, a bet, a technology, a fusion, the armor of many who achieve when reading the beauty of everyday life of what makes us unique and gives us identity. And in turn, it pays homage to Venezuelan muralism and kineticism. because that’s my street work, but elegant.
