BIO
Evelyn Mora is a graphic designer, artist, and mother of two. She was born in 1972 in Caracas, Venezuela. At a very young age, she developed a passion for fine arts, which led her to study painting. She became a student of graphic design at the Escuela de Diseño y Comunicación Visual Prodiseño, where she also learned analytical drawing. She has worked for multiple design studios in Venezuela and Argentina. Currently, she resides in Houston, Texas and she dedicates her time to her family and rediscovering her love for art.
Everyday she deepens her spirituality—allowing her to discover new inspirations, disconnect herself from physical reality, and experiment with different techniques and mediums. She admires nature, color, and the everyday… She enjoys every part of the process, from the light stroke of the pencil to the bold stroke of the paintbrush. She finds art to be a lifelong process of learning and evolution, requiring constant study and investigation, a creativity that she nourishes in a journey of transformation.
ARTISTIC DECLARATION (STATEMENT)
My artistic expression journeys between the urban and spirituals planes. In the former, I portray places, landscapes, and scenarios of quotidian life and how each of us plays a role in an aesthetic reflective of life. In the latter, I attempt to give tangibility and color to my faith; I allow myself to revel in and connect with different perspectives and internal testimonies that emerge from the soul.
I like to create undefined urban sensations that each spectator can create their own intimate experience with. I love to cultivate the spirituality and grace of celestial religiosity. I live by an EAT PRAY PAINT philosophy that encapsulates the day to day of my artistic expression.
